Is purse peace actually achievable?

Is purse peace actually achievable?

Purse peace is that feeling of contentment when you have all the handbags you desire or could possibly use. but is is achiveable when luxury brands release new shiny bags every season? is it achievable when trends come and go so quickly?

I do believe it's possible and that's why i started Purse Peace. I want to provide a way for you to find purse peace through sustainable and ethical shopping. I want to find those coveted vintage bags that have been living in your mind since you were young (for me this is the Louis Vuitton Murakami multicolour pochette or the Fendi purple sequin baguette!). I believe i won't have purse peace until i have those in my collection.

What Does Purse Peace Mean?

Purse peace is not about owning every designer bag on your wish list. It is about reaching a point where your collection feels balanced, intentional, and satisfying. It is the moment when you love and use every piece you own without feeling the constant urge to add more. It is harmony between practicality, style, and personal meaning.

The Struggle: Why Purse Peace Feels Out of Reach

- Trends evolve quickly. What is in today might feel outdated tomorrow.

- Luxury marketing is powerful. Brands know how to create desire and exclusivity.

- Resale platforms fuel temptation. With access to vintage and preloved pieces, the hunt for a “grail” never really ends.

- Emotional connections to handbags are strong. Bags are tied to important life milestones, rewards and self-expression.

The Path Toward Purse Peace

First, define your style. Identify what truly fits your lifestyle rather than chasing trends.

Second, curate rather than collect. Think of your bags as a wardrobe that should work together, not as trophies.

Third, buy preloved or vintage. Not only is this sustainable, but it also gives you access to timeless pieces that will not lose their appeal.

Fourth, embrace the joy of rotation. Regularly swap out your handbags to rediscover old favorites.

Finally, let go to move forward. Selling or passing on bags that no longer spark joy helps refine your collection.

Can Purse Peace Ever Be Final?

In short, no I don't think so. Rather than a permanent state where we will be happy with all our bags for life is unrealistic. At different times in my life I've wanted different bags and as my lifestyle changes those bag i want and indeed will use has changed. For example, before i had children i loved my small bags, while i had young kids my Louis Vuitton Neverfull demier ebenne was in full use carrying nappies, wipes and snacks! And now they're older i am trying to find my personal style again and giving in to my sequin and beaded purse obsession that i can enjoy without worrying it will be ruined by baby spew.

So I think the way to achieve purse peace temporarily is to buy vintage and curate your collection by selling those you no longer love.

What bag/s do you need to find for you to achieve purse peace?
